encoding to ac3

hi
well i waited for 5 days to post a message and there it goes
i have 30 cds encoded in dts and dolby digital, i bought mvix player in which i can store ac3 and mp3 files , it supports 5.1 channels only in ac3 format, i tried to convert the cds to ac3 and store them on my harddrive i tried like 8 softwares with no success, i guess you guys are professional, so please explain it to me step by step in which software should i use and what do i need to do.

DTS CD's

Rip CD's using CDex (http://cdexos.sourceforge.net/) for an example. Then rebuild WAV-DTS files using DTS parser (http://hypercubemx.free.fr/html/dtsparser.html). After that rencode to AC-3 using Aften (http://win32builds.sourceforge.net/aften/index.html) & Foobar2000 (http://foobar2000.org/) with dts plugin (http://pelit.koillismaa.fi/plugins/show.php?id=177) (put in components folder).

Aften settings in Foobar2000:

You can add -dynrng 3 to Aften command line.

Select dts files in playlist, rightclik on them and choose Convert -> Convert to.



AC-3 CD's

Rip AC-3 CD's using CDex and then rebuild WAV-AC3 files using BeSplit (http://besweet.notrace.dk/BeSplitv0.9b6.zip):

besplit -core( -input in.wav -output out.ac3 -fix -type ddwav )

That's it.

for the first method i get screen in which i dont know what to do see file attached
for the second method after i get the commandline in the besplit window it doesnt allow to type anything just the black screen

My mistake. It should be:

besplit -core( -input in.wav -output out.ac3 -fix -type ddwav )

when i drag the files it opens selector tool for audio format i am clicking on the ac3 and then i get that screen in which no button on the keyboard respond, nothing!, nada! ,zero!!!, not that command "xxxx" or that command "gchgh" i can only close the window .
do you have any suggestions?

Don't use BeSliced but BeSplit in console ("in.wav" is just an example of course).


EDIT:

Regarding foobar2000 - did you configured encoder: File -> Preferences -> Tools -> Converter -> Add New (Custom)? If so then right-clik on the file and choose Convert -> Convert to.

but i insalled the aften with the self extracting cabinet and it installs enc "wav to ac3" software and to configure foobar settings as you showed here, there isnt anyfile in the program files named aften.exe see screenshot, about besplit i didnt understood what do you mean?

You don't have to prove things with screenshots! Explanations are enough. :) Look in the Converter prefs pointed out by Krismen, find out where Aften.exe got extracted to, and point foobar's converter to it. It won't go into the foobar folder normally, unless you move it there.

Unpack this file (http://mowa.nazwa.pl/kfgz/wav_ac3.zip) in the same directory as wav-ac3 file (your wav-ac3 file must name "in.wav") and execute "run_me.bat".

krismen i extracted the file you linked me changed the name of the file (the wav file i have on the hd in which i want to convert) to what you said and executed the run_me what now?
about the aften i dont have such file stored in my hd i allready runned a search in the whole computer and extracted again all of the rar files. it is possible that i downloaded other version of aften that dont have the exe file? can you link me to that file?

Copy "out.ac3" to your mvix player.

If you don't get "out.ac3" then rename wav-ac3 file to "in" (maybe you don't see an extension of known files).

foobar and aften are working but when i cupy the output file to my mvix all it plays is static noise:angry:

Can you upload (sendspace.com) a few megabytes of wav-dts file (not fixed by DTS Parser)? You can cut it using Delaycut (http://jsoto.posunplugged.com/audiotools.htm).

You MUST parse your file through DTS Parser - rebulid stream option checked!

Maybe you didn't copy dts plugin (http://pelit.koillismaa.fi/plugins/show.php?id=177) into foobar2000\components. I'm 99.9% sure of that you didn't.

If DTS file is decoded by your player then it doesn't make sens to reencode to AC-3.
