good evening,

I've tried to quick-convert an avi file containing ac3 audio...

AutoGK stopped because of an avisynth/ directshow error...

virtual dub wasn't able to open that file via directshow...

all infos about the file you should see in the screen shot... bad luck or is their something I can try?...

thx in advance

Hi,

Just tested. I have no problem with a previously xvid/ac3 avi file encoded by me. So I suppose it can be an avi or directshow or AGK problem.
- For avi you could try checking with Gspot+ rebuild index with Vdubmod (open VDM/ open avi /save new name/done)
- For directshow, update FFdshow? I have the jan 23,2006 ffdshow rev and haali media splitter 1.7.77.5
- For AGK if an avi made by you cannot be processed, de-install/re-install ?

Besides that I'm out of ideas...
Or re-rip from original :)

I managed to get the "regular" directshowsource to work with all files now. ffdshow was the culprit, I had to uncheck Output->Allow output format changes during playback-> Connect to compatible filters only

Worth a try?

hi guys,

thanks for your suggestions.

rebuilding the index via Vdubmod was a good hint but unfortunately didn't solved the problem.

I have the jan 23,2006 ffdshow rev and haali media splitter 1.7.77.5

me too, so that is unlikely the cause of the error... and re-installing AGK isn't worth a try as it is the only file with problems I've discovered so far.

thanks jeffy... that seems to be a good starting point - I'll report if that worked out

bloody liar... you do have a sense of humor (in contrast to your signature) :D

it is an 'old' DVB-S capture - HD source, converted to xvid with original soundtrack... so, unable to "re-rip" unless broadcasted again for a 2nd new capture...

EDIT:

uncheck Output->Allow output format changes during playback-> Connect to compatible filters only

simple as that... thank you very much - that solved it!!!
