mkv playback

I'm trying to play back an mkv file but it won't work in either mplayer or vlc on Gentoo Linux. Does anyone have any suggestions for getting this file to play?

Given your very recent requests for help with downloaded material and their subsequent deletion, one can only assume that this is another one. If you know how to create an .mkv video, you would know how to play it.

2) Which did you create it in, a LinuX environment or a Windows environment?
