Is a classic error when you try to open a H.264 video stream in VirtualDub without a VfW decoder.
As you have ffdshow, go to your Start --> Run --> ffdshow menu, and VfW configuration.
Go to the Codecs option and choose livavcodec for H.264/AVC.
That should do it.
Still, I wouldn´t recommend you to open MKV with VirtualDub, as its support is rather old.

And even with a vfw decoder, VirtualDubMod can't open native AVC/H.264 in MKV. AFAIK, there is no easy and native software for editing this kind of files.

If you want to edit this file in VirtualDubMoD, the only way is to remux the stream into an AVI container using AVC2AVI and then open that AVI in VirtualDubMoD. Once you are done with your editing, you can remux the resultant file back again into MKV using mkvmerge.

@pasta03, striked for rule 6. Title in vdub suggests you've downloaded this clip illegally.
