i have three xvid-dts avi parts of a movie i need to combine into one file. two problems:

- each file separately plays fine; when appended and combined into one file with vdubmod or avi mux gui or mkvmerge in parts two and three audio and video become slightly but quite noticably out of sync.

- what are the right preload/interleave values for dts to avoid jerky playback.

rip the dts track out of the dvd you own again and remux it with the merged video stream

and check rule 6
