hi,

I've read some posts in here about these codecs.
Also that professional DVD rips are done by the 3.11!

But if I use G-Knot and choose between Divx3 und Divx4 I just can see that I get a better bitrate if I take the Divx4.
So why should I take the Divx3 codec?

In the end, I wanna have (like anybody else ;)) the greatest quality, but now the question: with 3.11 or 4.12 (or the latest) ?

DivX 3.11 SBC and DivX 4.xx 2-pass. are very close together what comes to quality/size.

I recomend u go for Gknot and DivX 4, (read the guide) it's a wery powerful way to DivX.

Divx4 2-pass gives you great quality. Divx3.11 can give you slightly better quality, but needs to be tweaked a lot more. As long as your rips looks good, it doesn't matter what codec you use.
