Can someone tell me where the inloop filter is located in MeGUI and explain to me what exactly it does? I looked around but didn't see anything. Sharktooth refers to it here (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=101813).

Before starting encoding set the bitrate or quantizer (manually or thru the calculator) and adjust the inloop filter accordingly to your needs/taste: keep it 1;1 or higher for anime/toons (max 3;3) and not higher than x264 defaults (0;0) for movies.

Also, I've been queuing up the my avs and sound file, then just hitting Autoencode and using the size presets. Am I not using the presets correctly?

Thanks!

The quote should make you think about x264.. ever tried looking in the x264 config window?

I did... I saw nothing with the word filter in any of the tabs (using the HQ-Slow profile).

in the main tab, there's a section called Deblocking. If you hover over the "enable deblocking" checkbox, a popup comes up with the title "Deblocking (in loop) filter" and a detailed description.
