mediacoder preview/encoding probs

Hi.

I've been using media encoder to get DVD contents into mpeg2. before I had chose mediacoder as my tool of choice I installed a gazzillion other apps, yesterday was cleaning day and I uninstalled most of them. today I got at work and I couldn't play DVD's at all (powerdvd reported something about not beeing able to decode it), I searched around in forums and everything pointed to a solution that implied reinstalling powerdvd. it fixed it alright.

now I'm trying to get some actual work done, and mediacoder refuses to preview DVD contents (it looks scrambled, as if (suprise!) it wasn't decrypting anything) and when I try to rip the DVD it rips it, again, encrypted.

so I'm a bit lost here. any help is kindly appreciated.

Thanks for the input.

I've done that, I've downloaded the patch/upgrade they link from the wiki and the result is still the same.
