MeWiki and the MeGUI ColorFilter

So the MeWiki documentation says if its mpeg2 you should enabled the colorfilter option in your avs script.

Then I was reading that may not be as simple as just determing the source - that checking the colormetry is required.

Can someone please clarify the situation.

If you are talking about ColorMatrix you don't need to check anything. When you activate it in the AviSynth script generator it automatically sets DGDecode to pass on information about the video. As long as Colormatrix comes directly after DGDecode it will automatically turn itself off when not needed with these setting.
