hey there

i'm trying to get this blu ray backup working which is ice age 2 but somehow I can not choose the DTS HD audio channel. instead I hear the french, spanish and commentaries channels.

i tried playing it on powerdvd and windvd but nothing seems to be working.

can anybody help?

Hi!

Does the original, commercial disc exhibit the same behavior? If so, return it to the place of purchase, in exchange for a new one.

Otherwise, does your system have DTS playback capability?

where can I see if it does?
the blu ray drive should have playback capability right?
do I need a special sound card?

do I need a special sound card?You need SOMETHING (either a sound card or external audio system) that is specifically capable of processing and outputting DTS audio...where can I see if it does?
the blu ray drive should have playback capability right?Put the original, commercial DVD in your BluRay drive (I'm presuming it's part of, or attached to the same system) and play it...

okay I just had to install the realtek high defintion audio driver. sorry :P

but using powerdvd I dont get any video. its just scrambled.
the original disc probably cant be played because I dont have an hdcp-compliant card right?
but the back up should work...

but using powerdvd I dont get any video. its just scrambled.Sounds like you've simply COPIED the video files (perhaps using IMGBurn to do so), rather than ripping the DVD with an appropriate program...

For HD-DVD, it appears that PowerDVD 7.1/2 will only work with an HDCP compliant video card, regardless of whether the source file has been decrypted. However, PowerDVD 6.5 will work with non-HDCP compliant video cards and decrypted content.

I got okay audio but scrambled video with an ATI X300 (non-HDCP) and PowerDVD 7.1, but everything was fine with PowerDVD 6.5.

I'm not sure if PowerDVD for Blu-ray operates in the same way, but I would suspect it does.

Try using PowerDVD 6.5 instead.

powerdvd 6.5 works great for hd dvd apparantly but my blu ray back up doesnt work..
this is really frustrating :(
