I have been getting encodings that have been nothing but static lately. The sound was originally mp3 in an avi file. I saved it out to a pcm wav file using virtualdub. Then I used this command to transcode it to 128 kbps mp2
-core( -input file.wav -output outfile.mp2 ) -2lame( -s 48000 -b 128)
and the resulting file is just static. The input wav sounds just fine though, and using HeadAC3he to transcode it gives good result.
