Hi,
until a short time ago I was using AnyDVD to remove protection from protected discs, I left because I knew of its behaviour with the system's resources.
I heard that DVDFab should make the job by itself, but now I have a disc that nor Decrypter nor DVDFab can handle, someone here knows about a good software for copying a protected disc to hdd? (the protection is the type that give an error message about at the end of the copying)
I thank you in advance :)

What is the Title and Region of the DVD?

it's "paganini", region2 by medusa video (an italian distributor).
some times ago I've seen some sony's discs making the same.

Try ripping your DVD(s) using the easy to use "RipIt4me" package (Incorporates RipIt4Me, DVD Decrypter, FixVTS, and DVD Shrink). You can download this excellent freeware from:
www.ripit4me.org
While you're at that site, read the excellent "how to" tutorial...
**Important** If the disc proves to be physically damaged, try using the almost magical freeware disc recovery program, "ISOPuzzle"...

Grazie.You're quite welcome ;>}
I can't say enough good things about "ISOPuzzle" - It's a remarkable disc recovery program!

in the end.... after all the night IsoP gave up at 99,7% with 6000 reading errors... it's strange because I've seen the movie on my crappy stand alone player some evening ago.
I'll try again, editing if succesful.

after all the night IsoP gave up at 99,7% with 6000 reading errors...As far as I know, "ISOPuzzle" shouldn't quit unless you tell it to do so. Did it create an .ISO image file on your hard drive? If so, did you try to play it?
1) Have you as yet tried using the "RipIt4Me" package? If so, and if there was an error message, what was the EXACT wording?
2) Have you tried copying the "movie only"?
3) On the chance that the DVD is NOT protected, have you tried using Windows Explorer to copy the files to your hard drive?

1) I tried... twice. it gives the "interrupt retry ignore" error. sorry, don't remember the exact words, but it was the most common error message that I've ever seen.
2)I've seen the 'error' is quite in the middle of the movie
3)yes, I've tried in effect, and it stopped a little before ending
I think is like a protected AND damaged disc, so now I declare it not suitable for ripping.
note: in effect IsoP was going on, but...

Again, regarding your use of the RipIt4Me "package", if there was an error message, what was the EXACT wording?
Also again, with regard to your use of ISOPuzzle, did it create an .ISO image file on your hard drive? If so, did you try to play it?

sorry, now I can't do other copies of that disc.
anyway, yes isop created an iso file and nero open it regularly, simply it lacks the piece that it couldn't rip.
the ripit4me error was like 'errore ciclico di ridondanza' but I don't know what could have been the text in english.

A CRC (Cyclical redundancy check) error indicates that there's either a problem with the physical DVD (scratched, dirty, Peanut Butter and Jelly) - or the earliest version of "ARccOS" copy protection yes isop created an iso file and nero open it regularly, simply it lacks the piece that it couldn't rip.The disc must have SUBSTANTIAL physical damage then.
Does the "missing piece make the .ISO salvaged by "ISOPuzzle" pointless to watch?

I'm curious to know, is this DVD's title simply "Paganini", "Kinski Paganini, "Paganini Concerto #1", or is it "Paganini Horror"?
