Ok so avimuxgui's dev has boycotted Vista support, it doesnt work the resulting file is messedup visually. Same with using megui's DivxMux.
So what tool can I use to mux mp3s into avi that actually works on Vista?

Had some progress that might help others....
Ive got AVIMuxGUI working fine in vista so whatever problems the developer is talking about on this website I dont atleast seem to have noticed them.
Im not sure if it was the latest build of ffdshow tryouts or megui's build of mencoder that was the root cause - Im leaning towards megui and the tools that megui uses like mencoder as other mpeg4-asp videos decoded fine in ffdshow tryouts. I decided as the Vista platform is pretty new I would try the older method of video for windows with VirtualDub and the divx codec.
Works fine - DGIndex frameserving, AviSynth, VirtualDub, Divx codec, Besweet/Belight, AviMuxGui all on vista.

Don't know if it's related, but Avery Lee posted on the VirtualDub homepage that Vista does not write AVIs correctly :D <3 Microsoft!!
Have a look!
