I have a movie that has quite a bad release history - there have been only chopped up releases since recently. The full original audio track is only available on VHS cassette, for the DVD release they sliced together different languages with subs added at every language switch.
So the VHS sound (bad quality) has to be spliced into the DVD audio (good quality) at the appropriate places. The question is - which audio editing tool would you recommend?
Preferrably it should be able to handle ordinary stereo-WAV without conversion for quality and super-accurate cutting, and ideally you should be able to view, navigate and zoom both streams in the same window in waveform view.
Have you ever done that? Please share your tips.
