DVI Screen Size

Hi, I have a Samsung LE19R71BX/XEU flatscreen monitor. I am trying to connect my GFX card to this TV via a DVI cable.

It all works fine and the color looks great, but the only problem is that the screen wont fit properly onto the TV display. I have attached a picture to help illustrate what I mean. In my TV's manual it says that it doesn't support the 'PC' function via DVI, only via VGA.

So does anybody know how I can make the screen fit properly? I have tried different resolutions with no success.

Does anybody know of an application which I can use to resize the screen on Windows XP Media Center?

It's called "overscan."

Acer's GridVista (unrelated to windows vista) is a tool that can define regions on your monitor for windows to maximize to. It's sort of like splitting a real screen into multiple logical monitors, but it's more lightweight than that. Anyway, if you have an Acer you could use it to define a region in the interior so that the monitor functions the way it should.

Ultramon and Powerstrip might have something like it. No idea, can't hurt to ask.

I went into my GFX card's settings (ATI Catalyst Control Center) and managed to change it to:

'Use centered timings' under the Image Scaling heading.

This has made it fit slightly better but still not perfect!

Anybody who is experienced with the ATI Catalyst Control Center or the ATI Radeon X1950 Pro 256mb GFX Card please help!
