Hi guys
I have 2 questions :
1 - How can I decode a DTS to 8 waves ? I think there must be a free software for it. If there is , please give me a link to download.

2 - How can I encode 8 waves to a DTS ? Give me URL , if there is.

Tnx in advance

1) there is no free software. And free ac3 decoding software is pretty much illegal too (Dolby had FreeBSD remove ac3dec due to licensing issues.. you have to have a valid license to decode AC3 and DTS). And 8 channels? don't think so.. dts is 5.1 mostly

2) and as for software encoders: http://www.minnetonkaaudio.com/SurCode_DTS_3.htm . Of course.. not freeware either.

Ok , thnx. Now 2 questions :
1 - What is exactly the different between Dolby and DTS ?

2 - What is the positioning of DTS bands ? I mean what is the posisions of the 8 bands for playing DTS sounds ?

3 - Can I encode a DTS sound with SonicFoundrySoftEncode ?

tnx in advance

1) quick one: dts uses less compression than dd. long one: dolby specs can be obtained at www.dolby.com, dts specs at http://www.dtsonline.com/

2) for DVDs... it's still 6 channels, not 8. And bands? don't you mean speakers?

3) no.. the prog I gave you a link to before can though
