problems with xvid 2CD rip

I have a DVD which I ripped to my hard-drive. It is approx 7.8GB. I used a CCE/sp 9 pass via DVD RB Prof...to make a DVD5. From both DVD9 & DVD5 sources, I have attempted to make a 2CD(1400MB) xVid AC3 rip using StaxRip AND AutoGK...and both times it has failed...and I do NOT know what went wrong. The video seems to play fine. But the audio is so messed up. Seems staticy...meaning, 1 second on, another second gone...missing. I don't know what to do...please help me. Thank you. (oh yes, seems like the audio doesn't match up anyway with what the characters are saying on screen)

try using ripit4me to rip the DVD.

1) Does the original, commercial DVD play properly on your PC?

2) Does the Rebuilder backup copy play properly on your PC?

3) What is the Title and Region of the DVD?

Yes to Questions 1 & 2. It's just the 2CDrip version that cannot play properly.

The movie title is of no import, and it is region-free. (Satya is the movie title, an Indian film from 1998.)

Hmm... try doing things manually. Rip the title you are interested in with DVD Decrypter or RipIt4Me if necessary. Load the VOBs into DGIndex, select force film if necessary, and output all audio tracks and the d2v. Load this d2v into AviSynth with a simple Mpeg2Source("x:\movie.d2v"), and open that script in VirtualDub. Setup a 2 pass encode with XviD targeting the appropriate bitrate (leave other settings at defaults, or tweak if you want to / know how). Mux the resulting AVI with the AC3 track you are interested in using AviMuxGUI. Then play it.

Let us know what happens, and if things dont work out, exactly where and how in that workflow problems arise.

I find it intriguing that someone who is posting a request for assistance with a problem would presume to know what is or isn't important regarding requested information ;>}
