Windows can't find path to Media Player Classic?

Can someone please help?

I am running XP SP2 and I have a problem with windows using media player classic. I think I deleted the shortcut to media player classic from the quick launch, and now when I click on a file that had mpc as the default player, the player would open but not play the file.

If I try to choose the properties of a given file, like .mpg, and select OPEN WITH, and select mpc, windows does nothing.

Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Windows is a bit retarded if you don't have the exe in your Program Files dir for file associations, copy the exe to like C:\Program Files\MPC or something and use browse to select that one as your associated player.

Hi, Thanks for your help. I did what you said, but it still didn't work. However, I then changed the name of the file mplayerc.exe to another name (mpc.exe) and it worked! :)
