Hi there!
i have quite a large collection of mkv/ac3 files i want to convert into mkv/aac. i havenīt touched the audio before because i wanted to keep the quality of ac3 and didnīt wanted to try the early versions of (ogg/aac)5.1.
but now i consider reencoding the audio tracks for my collection.
so now are my questions:
1. which tool would allow me a batch processing of my files without me touching every file manually?
2. which settings are recommendable for these situations:
a) 5.1: best quality for standard movies: is reencoding recommendable at all? or would the bitrates for perfect quality not be smaller than from the original ac3 files?
b) 5.1->2.0: something like simpsons for example: 5.1 isnīt really used anyway here so quality could be set relatively low i think? makes encoding to PLII sense (have seen the setting in megui/neroaac) & how do i have to play these to make use of it afterwards (using mediacenter for playback - so no SAP support needed)
thansk for your tips!
