What does FFDshow's 'SuperEQ' setting really do? does it simply make a 2nd pass on the audio using the current equalizer setting? or is there something more its doing here?

with super EQ enabled, i notice a very small lag when i first start playing a file (1st second of playback) in MPC. however when i turn super EQ off, files play just fine at the 1st second of playback.

it sounds great! but what exactly is it doing?

Not a second pass, just a more cpu-intensive (and occasionally better) EQ than simpler and faster algorithms, made by Shibatch (http://shibatch.sourceforge.net/), same guy who made SSRC. It lags because it seems to need a lot of samples fed into it before it'll start working.

thanks again foxy you always help me. ive seen you basically everywhere too. for example i will google a question and find some random forum ive never heard of before and there will be someone named foxyshadis answering the questions LOL.

wow you mean Naoki Shibata, who is one of the big gurus in the LAME MP3 encoder developement team? NICE!

so this SUPER EQ is actually better than winamp's equalizer? OMFG i had thought winamp's equalizer was top tier!

is it possible to instruct MPC or FFDSHOW to sample more audio ahead of time to avoid this small blip in the 1st second of playback?
