Hey all,
I have some free time and want to test out new filters for noise in vhs captures. I have been currently using Convolution3d and PeachSmoother, but want to try some others out.
I am going to start with a talk show program, should my test clip have shots panning on the audience (movement) or just the host sitting talking with a guest? And how long should it be?
When I am comparing the results with all the filters what are some common things to look for? Right now, all I look for is to see how sharp or smooth people faces are and see if the backgrounds are grainy -- is there anything I should zero in on?
Also, the way I did testing before was make a dvd with a chapter for each filter for the same clip and play them one after another while taking notes. I was wondering if doing a sort of split screen and looking say 2 or 4 at time would be a good idea? (and how do you do that in AviSynth?)
