View Full Version : XviD Playback Issue

I have an XviD file that will not playback in any software player that I try it on: MPC, MPlayer, VLC, etc. When I try to open it in those players it suddenly fast-forwards at about 30sec per second, and I can't figure out why. Yet if I open it up in VDub I can seek through it just fine. Ideas?

How did you make said XviD file? Have you tried remuxing it?

Never would've thought that would work, but it did. I simply opened the files in VDubMod, demuxed .mp3 and .avi without audio, and remuxed together and now playback is fine. I wonder what happened...

Meh... sometimes these things happen. Who knows what goes on in the minds of the little horned demon bastards that power our computers...
Glad it worked.

Hi,
To fix avi files, besides AVIfix (or Divxfix?), it is recommended to do exactly that (demux/remux) in VDM. It rebuilds the indexfile and also try to synch the audio :)

@EpheMeroN
Hi!
perhaps the original file wasn't interleaved...
