Problem with Foxyshadis Deband Function

I am having a problem with foxyshadis deband function. I wave a DVD with very bad banding in green and blue areas. I used the function deband from Foxyshadis and it completely got rid of the problem but the "helper" function addchromagrain seems to have ruined redish areas (which were previously fine). On a normal TV even the red is perfect but on a monitor the problem is very very visible even at quite low contrast.

I tried reducing addchromagrain from 8 to lower values - although the red improved, the banding in blue and green returned.

I also tried ConvertToRGB24 coupled with MergeRGB and used an unfiltered source for the red channel and a filtered one for green and blue - unfortunately this gave the worst of both worlds: both banding and awful red colors!!!

Sorry, reds in YUV are very sensitive to filtering. =\ You can try running AddGrainC on the RGB, and then exclude the red channel from filtering, or something like that. You could get the same effect in YUV with a little lut, but it's impossible to make a sample without anything to test against.

Just to make sure, you're sure you added clips in the right order to mergergb, and didn't accidentally invert them?

Hi Foxy! Thanks for replying. By the way your function is great! It's the best thing I've tried so far for solving banding problems. Actually I used what you call the "helper" function in the script addchromagrain not addgrainC. I tried the latter too but it didn't do the job.

I am sure I used the channels in the right order. My guess is that ConverttoRGB is destroying color gradients.

I have made two samples where the problem is very obvious. The first one is the filtered version where the green area is OK (look at Triklops just before Orko spins his helmet) but the pink is full of very visible noise (look at Orko) - can be seen only on LCD and PC monitor. On a normal TV everything looks fine:
