Which codec version do you have? Are you talking about the Advanced Profile beta package?

I think I installed the VC1 codec from a microsoft ini file. It was a while ago!

The only standalone WMV9 package released by Microsoft in recent times was the Advanced profile beta installer... and you can remove that one through the Control Panel's Add/Remove Programs.
