ABX comparator for x264 files?

I have searched this forum several times looking for settings I wanted, and I have come to the conclusion that the only way to get any idea of what I want is to do a bunch of encodes on a few test samples and ABX it for myself.

I have searched. Perhaps I am using the search function wrong, but I can't find an A/B comparator for x264. Right now I open two VLC windows and fast forward to around the same time in the file which is pretty primitive.

I'm looking for something like ABX for audio so I can switch on the fly between the one with the slowest/"best" and fastest/"worst" settings, and see if I notice a difference, or what I should be looking for. One with the slowest settings, another with the fastest just so I know what to look for, then slowly increase the settings until I can't notice much difference on a good enough amount of the material I am encoding.

I don't have an answer, but I can suggest an improvement in your question:
Don't ask for an ABX for "x264", ask for an ABX for video in general. They're the same problem.

(Unless you have a very good splitter, AVC and most other formats are probably best converted to lossless first, or seeking will cause problems.)
