using avisynth under linux ?

Well, finally saw the light of Microsoft's Vista - which locks you down every which way with it's "security" features (read "for hollywoood, not for me") and does things like invisibly degrading the display if it thinks the path unprotected, and apparently checks 30 times per second for internally protected data paths, and generally eats cpu cycles to the extent it can slow the PC down quite significantly... and am now trying out the future - Linux (Ubuntu 6.10 for me).

The $64m question... does everyone's (well, my) favorite/mandatory/can't-live-without-it video tool AviSynth run under Linux ? Did a search but wasn't clear where to look. A bit worried about the .dll filters ...

No. Avisynth 3 does though. (It's not even close to being ready yet)

I've heard rumors that it works with WINE, but don't hold me to it :)

Just stick to 2k/xp.

avisynth works good with wine, most filters work.

By "most" do you mean the internal filters or do you include the contributions like tdeint, tivtc, eedi2, masktools, mvtools, fft3dfilter, frfun7, etc ? If so I could be tempted to switch to linux, but until all my favorite plugins and scripts are usable there I don't think I will..
