Ok well I'm no stranger to recoding DVD's or ripping them. I'm also no stranger to audio files as well (Mp3, AAC, HE-AAC and so on) I'm reading here all about this BeSweet, BeLight Stuff. I can't get it to work. I'm not even that sure "exactly" what it does.

My question is, is this stuff just extracting audio? Or is it making the audio on VOB files smaller? Example: The audio on a 2 1/2 Hour DVD-DL maybe come to about 255m.. Now is it possible to encode this audio into another format (Mp3, AAC ect) while keeping the file a valid VOB? I hope I'm explaining this right and that someone knows what I mean.

If that's not what it does, Is there a program that would recode the audio streams on VOB files as well as recoding the video??

Like maybe a DVD Shrink that also let's say DVD "Audio Shrink" as well??

Accepted audio per DVD specifications are uncompressed wav, mp2 & ac3, so no mp3 & aac. I'm not aware of a program which does simultaneous re-encoding of audio and video.

Hi!

Valid DVD-compliant audio formats include .AC3, LPCM stereo, .DTS, and (unofficially) .MP2 - as well as monaural...

Only possible with full reauthoring, I believe.
If some softs like DVD Rebuilder or Nero Recode could reencode the LPCM to AC3-192k or something, it would be awesome because 1 GB audio is a little too much for a freaking Stereo track, but I don't know any software that currently does that.
You can demux the video and audio separatedly from the VOBs using DGIndex, reencode the audio, then reauthoring it to compliant VOB. That's really a pain in the back if you want a fast job, but it's the only way at this time, AFAIK.
