Patch .MKV file without rewrite them ...

I've read the Matroska FAQ, but don't found my question ... so :

Is it possible to patch a mkv file ( ie, change the default audio stream, or display AR ...ect... ) without rewrite the full file ?!

Technically it is possible, but there i no tool to do it AFAIK. Maybe the very old matroskaprop from jcsston can do it ? It was coming in the old matroska full pack 1.1.2, but was not installed by default.
