Help with improving old VHS rip

Hello friends, a newbie needs your help :D

I am a big fan of the legendary british rock band Queen.
I also collect bootleg videos from unreleased concerts. A couple of years ago one of the rarest bootleg videos was the concert from Houston in 1977. Now almost everybody has a DVD copy from it, including me. The concert itself isreally great, but the video needs a major upgrade. There are several problems with the video.

1) The first problem you will immediatly see is that the video itself is terribly green.

2) The second problem appears only on some moving areas, for example look at Freddie's right hand, it leaves "ghosts".

3) The thirs problem is the blue and red colour, it is shifted a lot of pixels to the right and up. Look at Brian's shirt, it has a blue "neighbour" :)

4) The last big problems are white stripes running through the video. It was a big problem to capture it on a static image, but look at Brian's neck.

There are many other problems with the video, but these are the most serious. Please if you can help me make it watchable.

The ghosting might be due to strong temporal smoothing when the video has been transferred, I don't know if there's much you can do about it. ChromaShift can help you with the chroma shift problem. DeScratch could be used for the scratches.

You really should upload a short unprocessed sample clip, otherwise people won't be able to help you much.

Thanks for the tip, I'll try. Any tips for color correction and "shifting" ? Chroma shift makes the video look worse :(

rfmmars recommends using the VirtualDub filter ColorMill for color correction, possibly other filters as well. Search for his posts for more information on how to use them in Avisynth.

OK, I have tried to remove all the errors at onec, maybe it was not a good idea and I'm gonna concentrate on one at a time only :)
So first - the chroma shifting problem. When I tried the Chromashift filter with the C parameter, instead of a character with a huge color "shadow" on the right I get a character with a small "color shadow" on the left AND on the right ! It seems that the color area is WIDER then the original character. Is there any way how to "squeze" ONLY the color area WITHOUT affecting the rest of the image and AFTER THAT to use the chroma shift plugin to pull the "squeezed" color area to the correct position ?
I was thinking about something like "splitting" the image to 2 layers, with one having only the B&W background, and the second having the colorfull stuff , manipulating the second layer and then merging it .
What do you think ? I hope it makes sence :)

Have you tried FixChromaBleeding? Probably some MaskTools guru could help you with that, unfortunately I'm not one of those. Too bad we haven't been able to get the cloning machine working, one Didée is never enough ;)

Yes I have tried it, unfortunately I see no difference :(
