View Full Version : Joining multiple PGCs

Hi
I have a few DVDs where the movies for some reason are divided up into several PGCs.
I rip them in IFO mode and get one ac3 and one m2v for every PGC.
I'd like to get the whole movie as one m2v and one ac3 and I guess that Id have to join all the PGCs up somehow for that to happen.
Does anyone know what to do and how to do it?
Please see my images below:
This is a view over the PGCs:

Hi!
This sounds like a minor variation of the same inquiry you made in December, in this thread:

Won't using DVD Decrypter in "FILE" mode again solve your problem?

Sorry about posting the question again. The reason for this is that I didnt think people understood it without screenshots.
Anyway... Using file mode will only give me a bunch of VOBs and BUPs and so on. I need an m2v and an ac3.
Am I missing something?

In your other thread, you were shown how to rip the DVD contents as one continuous .VOB. You stated that you want to convert the movie to .WMV format.
The following primary link for a simple Googlesearch appears to provide many different programs that will convert the .VOB to .WMV, without having to first demultiplex to .M2V and .AC3:

I need an m2v and an ac3.
Open the vobs in DGIndex. Then go File->Save Project and Demux Video. That will give you one M2V and one AC3 for everything. I hope you don't want the subs, though.

Thanks
But I do want the subs, but couldnt I get them by just ripping the whole thing in file mode and using subrip on the vob?

To tell you the truth, I don't know (but I don't think so). If I wanted to keep the subs, I'd probably encode them all separately and then replace them in the original DVD using VobBlanker.

Okay. You wouldnt happen to know why the author might have thoufht it was a good idea to split the movie up into so many PGCs?
