I've been using megui since this past summer and have always used Lanczos filtering because it was a form of filtering I was familiar with from using Irfanview. What are the advantages/disadvantages (if any) to using Lanczo4?
Thanks!

Oh... thanks. I actually didn't think of looking there, although I've looked almost everywhere else it seems.

I also knew about Lanczos from Irfanview. :)
Anyway, now you can use Spline36 with MeGUI, wich is just like Lanczos without ringing or sharpness.
It does a better job at just about the same speed.

I just noticed that and was wondering about that. Especially since the ringing/sharpness was bothering me. Good to know.

Humourously enough, in testing I just did with the following script:
directshowsource(anime source).trim(100,1000)
resize(2048,2048)
resize(320,240)
lanczos4 comes out around 18% slower than spline (16.67 vs. 20.2). CPU is a 2.8Ghz allendale.
