I'm using 'acidrip', the Linux gui for mencoder to encode videos at the school where I work. The files play fine on the players I have on the Linux machine, but when I try to play them on the Windows Media Player on the school network, there's ghosting down the left-hand side of the picture - for about a quarter of the way across.
Ideas, anyone - please?

P.S. - please keep it simple, and not bury me with explanations involving 'b' frames, 'I' frames, etc.. I've tried to keep the 40 gallon drum full of worms that's video encoding at arms length 'till now!
