Backup Xbox games

has anyone tried to backup their xbox games?
is this possible?

This probably isn't the place to talk about this but...Someone please correct me if I'm mistaken but I believe that X-BOX games are pressed dual layer discs - the console itself just sees the second layer, while any conventional DVD-ROM drive or set top player is only capable of seeing the first layer (Insert an X-BOX game into your DVD-ROM drive or settop and see what happens). Conveniently, the game information is stored on the second layer - rendering it unreadable at the present time. There is also a barrage of other copy protection methods put in place to protect the game data. While security methods are in place, they are archaic in nature, and although I personally don't condone piracy in any way, these methods are in the process of being compromised even as we speak.

no piracy intended here...when each game is $50+ bucks, a backup copy is mandatory (at least for me).

I agree 110%. I'm going to back up every game I own if possible!
