Hello,

On a recent trip to the States I purchased the DVD Step Into Liquid. This contains both a regular DVD as well as a WMV HD disk with the movie in HD. When I returned to Denmark where I live, I found that the WMV HD disk will not play here. I have figured out that when I try to play it the DRM sees that I am not located in the US or Canada, and therefor will not send me license. How do I get around this? I have tried ~50 Proxy Servers with no luck. I think that most proxies are blacklisted with.

If anyone can either suggest a Proxy Server that works or give me another solution to the issue that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for any help in advance.

Peter

P.S. Nowhere on the disk or cover does it state that I need to be in the USA/Canada to play the disk.

I had the same problem. I bought Terminator 2 Extreme Edition which came with a 1080p wmv of the movie. When I moved to Japan and tried the disc it wouldn't work. As far as I know, there is no crack for the DRM on it. But I really don't follow the scene too much anymore so I really don't know.

I had the same problem and did go through the same process as you without any succes.
Because of my job, I have a travelling account that allows me to connect anywhere in the world to the internet over telephone lines (modem) by calling a local number. So what I did was call one of the numbers in the US and connect to the internet. This fooled the system that saw a US proxy server even though I was in Europe. It was a long distance call but I needed to be connected only shortly to get the key or whatever (which lasted for a week or so).
Do not know whether you can do something similar.
Good luck.

Unfortunately I have neither a modem nor a US account that I can log into. I am amazed that this DRM hasn't been cracked. Perhaps because relatively few users experience the problem. However, it seems completely unreasonable that I have purchased the disk and am not able to view it. Especially since there is no mention of this restriction on the disk or cover. That probably wouldn't hold up in court!

Again, if anyone can suggest any way for me to view this movie, please let me know. Non-banned proxies or some kind of hack. Since this has not been hacked before that should make it a challenge. Right?

Thanks,

Peter

You could try some free shell accounts to tunnel through. These may not be blacklisted like an open proxy is.

How does a "free shell account" work. Any links? I am not exactly a computer genius, but I really would like to see "Step inot Liquid" in HD! Please give a little guidance to the free shell account.

Thanks!

Peter

I decrypted it using the key I found on this forum; start a search on the forum and you'll find it

I sadly discovered it's 720P and not 1080; once you have the key you can use either fairtouse4wm or the 1st drm removing program requiring SID and KID key
