No more compressibility test?

GK seems to be definitively dead and it doesn't support DivX 6 6.5, so I'm trying some other tools (AutoGX, AVI.NET, Dr. DivX and so on) to make my DivX.
The first thing I can notice is that one of my favourite features seems to be completely missed. I'm talking about the compressibility test.
With GK I used to compress my movies chosing a fixed target file size and lowering the target resolutions to obtain an index > 60%. This was good, for me.
With all these new tools, I can't find any way to "predict" the quality of the resulting avi.
Is there any way to compute a "quality index" again?

Basically there are two different methods to encode your video: If you need a certain Quality Level and don't care about Final Size, then you use 1-Pass with Constant Quantizer. If you need to get a certain File Size (for example 700 MB for CD-R) then you use 2-Passes with Average Bitrate (= Target Filesize). The latter will analyze the video, automatically adjust the bitrate and give you the maximum Quality possible for the specified File Size. So if your Codec does 2-Pass Mode properly, you shouldn't need to run any Test Encodes...
