WinDVD problems

I have been trying to get this working on quite a few systems with no luck. Although I do have a 6600gt video card, it is NOT hdcp compliant (nor is my monitor for that matter). I have used a component dongle (even went with s-video and composite connection), but it refuses to play ANY commerical HD-DVD. It will play homemade HD-DVD's with no problem though.

Can it be an Nvida driver issue? I am using the latest drivers (don't know number off hand, at work). Perhaps I can revert back to an older driver?

I would think even if I didn't have an hdcp card (and/or monitor), I should be able to see a "Downrezzed" picture.

I also have a 6600GT with the latest drivers and use PDVD 6.5 on XP and PDVD 7.1/7.2 on vista

I am looking more specifically to search out "keys" from Windvd's memory for several of my hd-dvd titles. For viewing, I am useing Powerdvd 6.5 on XP.

Silly question. I have a 7600gt video card that is NOT the HDCP/HDMI version. However, the newest version of "Cyberlink Advisor" reports that the card IS compliant (ie, green light). Now, since I DON'T have a DVI to HDMI cable, I was wondering if I did get this cable, and tried to connect to my LCD upstairs (that is HDCP compliant), it is possible Windvd would actually work?

I have tried this stupid program on 3 pc's now with no luck. At the very least, it should play downrezzed for me. Play's homemade HD-DVD's like a charm. I have a HUGE collection of HD-DVD and Blu Ray and would like to extract keys so I can watch on my HTPC downstairs.

I'm running a dual monitor setup, digital to a lcd and vga to a crt.
When I use WinDvd with a 7800gt over vga to a non HDCP CRT monitor, I sometimes have to hit play a few times before it stops giving me the "not compliant error". What drivers are you running? I'm running 93.71
PowerDvd 7.1 also runs over vga to the crt. Once the files are decypted both the players run fine over digital to the LCD.

I am not getting a "not compliant error", it just won't play. I know it is an hdcp issue though because it will play both decrypted and homemade hd-dvd's. I hooked this thing up to vga to crt, still the same thing. It will just flash a bunch of colors on the screen for like a second, that's it. Heck, I even hooked the card's s-video dongle out to my tv and still nothing.
