Making DVD Jacket Images, no mp2 output

I was using TmpgEnc Express 3 to produce jacket images for my DVDs. I made the appropriate images and settings. When I encoded the image, all I needed to do was save the file as [filename].MP2 to get the file format that I needed.

I am trying out TmpgEnc Express 4 and performed the same number of steps. Except that when I save the file with the MP2 extension, it only comes out as MPG.

How do I fix it so that it will be saved with the file extension that I give it? Would my jacket images still work if I just rename the extension manually after the files have been encoded?

should be fine so long as they're elementary streams, not program streams (.mpg implies a program stream).

Hi!

If it's similar to the VERY old "TMPGEnc", you should set the output format to "Video only"...

BTW - I've never been able to successfully create "jacket" images that work properly - Would you be good enough to list your procedures?

jackets only work on Sony players. i think there's some others that support them, but they're not mandatory DVD stuff.

i just make them by loading bmps into spruce in the "jackets" part... obviously not useful info if you don't have spruce though.

The procedures I used are available at dvdrhelp and here at Doom as well. I will have to dig up the links though.

I was using TMPGEnc 3, and now 4. I have the file templates for the required output. I can share them with you guys if you just tell me how.

I did everything except for the HexEdit part at the end, which still seems to work in my case.
