Ello all, hope this is in the right place. What im after is what’s the best program to shrink movies and still keep the quality, what I want to do is put three movies on one 4.7 gig disc.

Any advice is much appreciated :)

DVD rebuilder (http://dvd-rb.dvd2go.org/), a recommended tool for compressing your DVD movies with BEST quality possible.

Yes. At the very least, DVD Rebuilder (using QuEnc, HCEnc or CCE) will give you better quality than DVD Shrink. But at the bitrate you'll be using, especially for action movies, don't expect the shrinked movies to look very good. For CRT TVs from maybe 15 feet away, artifacts won't be that apparent. If you try watching it on even a 15" LCD monitor, however, it's gonna be ugly.

If you'll only be watching on a PC, I recommend encoding to h.264. Or in case your DVD player is DivX certified, encode to DivX or XviD.

Use Procoder if the compression shown by DVD-RB goes near/below 40% but if its near 50%, use HCenc or AQMEnc, if its above 55-60% use HCenc.
