First off guys... Adding interlaced support within your decoder is much appreciated... Well done!

There does however appear to be a slight anomaly, during playback....

Here's what's seen when playing a (full resolution) 720x576 interlaced encode: -

And here it is again, with the black mattes cut away: -

If you are using the de-interlacing with the "Use advanced hardware overlay" checkbox on in the decoder configuration it is possible that this is actually caused by your graphics driver.

I'll test it tonight though just to be sure :)

What's the problem you didn't say..... :D
Are you refering to that bar down the left edge?

Does enabling de-intrlacing impact on image quality on non-interlaced material? In otherwords, is it OK to leave the de-interlacing option always on? I think I detected a slight bluriness when the option was turned on.

If I disable the "Use advanced hardware overlay" checkbox the noise on the left of frame goes away.... However, all my "interlaced" encodes contain aspect ratio signalling, so without the overlay feature, they are displayed incorrectly.

Also, if you enable, "De-interlace Video" and "Use advanced hardware overlay" and disable, "Show DivX logo watermark" the "de-interlacing" feature does not function...

Since the topic of this thread is about interlaced contents, i would like to ask if you have noticed that since version 6.4, the use of bframes is no longer allowed for interlaced encodings, even in UNCONSTRAINED profile.
I was hoping that this behaviour was a bug of the 6.4 release, but now that 6.5 has been released, things haven't changed.

bREAkDoWN: Indeed, this is intentional. Certain hardware players have problems playing content with this combination of features. I will make a note to investigate where we can relax this restriction.

First of all, thanks for your attention. :)

I had already written about this matter, here http://forums.divx.com/forum/viewTopic.php?id=3147 and here for version 6.4: http://forums.divx.com/forum/viewTopic.php?id=2042 , you can find more details in these threads.
For example, the standalone mediatek based player that i own is able to play interlaced bidirectional encodings without any flaws, and even if i can understand very well that interlaced bframes must be disabled for compatibility, in standard profiles, i think that they should be permitted when unconstrained is selected.
