After decrypting HD-DVD disc, the main HD movie does strange things

I used the latest version of BackupHD-DVD for V for Vendetta and when I play back the main movie files the video blinks black frames at regular interval and the movie plays like in slow motion.

If I try to play any other EVO files in the extracted movie, they all play fine. I'm using Power DVD Ultra 7.1

What gives? I have a dual core pc with DX9 card and 2GB ram.

We need some awareness of this fundamental problem in the doom9 community. Many people seem to be brushing it off for reasons I can only see as non-comprehension. Get with the program! We need to fix the core algorithm!

That thread is the foundation of the backup playback problems. IMHO, use these tools to test, and give feedback to people directly addressing those flaws like cwm9.

You absolutely should not start backing up your library, the backups are in a sense 'corrupt' and will result in the loss of the entertainment value and experience you purchased the movie for in the first place.

The fix will happen, but apparently there is a bit of a brain drain on this issue. It could be *fear* of legal repercussions, and as such, active SVN development should be moved to a country where that is not a problem.

Their software is incredible at open-sourcing proprietary formats, it is actively tuned and advanced, and of course it is outside the reach of the US DMCA! Maybe 'illegal' to distribute, but you can download, compile, and access plenty of A/V content that wouldn't be available outside Windows or $$$^2 NDA agreements.

So yes, there's still something going wrong with decryption and it needs to be fixed. But how? The needed info is kinda not present..

Right now, a lot of development is going on, much of it independent, but some building upon others. This development is progressing rapidly.

However, a single "backup prog" a la DVD Decrypter is not available as yet which you can use with 100% confidence that will provide you with a perfect backup as you do now with standard DVDs. But wait a while - eventually these programs being developed will progress further and converge into a few easy to use solutions. Even commercial types like AnyDVD are climbing on the bandwagon.
