What qf to shoot for w/ x264

I read here (http://tuxrip.free.fr/faq_en.html) that when encoding to xvid, having a qf over 0.30 is overkill and 0.20-0.22 for 1CD and 0.26-0.28 for 2 CDs is optimal (quality/size). What is a good qf to shoot for when encoding to x264?

A "good" starting point would be QF(xvid) * 3/4. But beware of QF : It doesn't take the complexity of the movie into account, and that matters a lot. Furthermore, it doesn't take subjective tastes into account. For example, I tend to prefer a large resolution with some artifacts, than a smaller artifact-free resolution. Other people can't tolerate any artefacts. All that to say you'd better make some tests on your own.
