viewing unfinished avi

Is there a program that would allow me to view a DivX avi file before its fully ripped.

vlc can play incomplete avi files sometimes...

Hi, thanks for your suggestion, but it doesnt work. The problem is that because Im ripping, the file is being used by a process. So its not like downloading half a movie and watching it. Any help appreciated.:thanks:

Just make and watch a second copy of the DivX-compressed .AVI that you created.

To what format are you converting your .AVI?

mplayer allows to watch a video while it's being encoded.

This is something that I do very often while creating a video with mencoder.

The only thing is that you need to use the option -idx so that seeking works.
