i have windows xp+sp2.the problem is that whenever i restart my system the err"DISK BOOT FAILURE,ENTER SYSTEM DISK".i tried reinstalling windows but no effect.then i insert the xp cd and press enter,it is ok.what might be the problem.
system config-amd athlon xp,1.3ghz+256mb ram+40gb hd

Enter BIOS, turn off CD-ROM as first boot device.

but my boot sequence is

1.floppy
2.hdd
3.cd

Try making your hard drive first in the sequence...

Other things that may be causing your problem:

-Bad IDE controller/IDE controller BIOS settings messed up
-If you have addtional controllers plugged in, they could be conflicting
-corrupted/missing MBR. Windows install should have fixed this, however.
-bad floppy drive, specially on older Mobos. This is why Setarip's advice may work.

What did you change just before this problem started?
Did it just suddenly start?

i think i installed 'microsoft dotnet framework 2.0'

but after that i reinstalled xp.i dont install the above thing but the prblm is there.

does a scratched xp cd cause such problem?
how do i change tiz MBR?
