So I am playing a backup copy of Battle Royal, and the default settings for the recording is to NOT have english subtitles...

Problem is... Im playing it in Windows Media Player 11, and there is no F@#%R$ way to enable them.

I download WMediaPlayer Classic.. I am up and running in two seconds.

Now the kicker.. I'm on a HTPC player using of course Media Center... and of Course, it uses Media Player... So how do I ENABLE subtitles... this is so F@$#$@ annoying.

Subtitles are controlled through the MCE interface, not WMP11 (despite WMP handling the playback). Try http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Windows/en-US/Help/e69eb36f-de61-4e80-8fe3-f3835b8e3e261033.mspx.

If that doesn't work, try hitting "info" on your remote, choose Settings, then DVD, and it'll let you change the Subtitle option.

Yeah... no good... tried that all, though not the info button but the associated menu using the mouse.

No luck... anyways, some DVD's dont even play on the pc, so I am going to need to use another device.

Classic Windows Media center is the best option right now, just got to do some research on how to get a plug in or option to handle my short screen saver.

Try clicking VIEW then scroll down to "Captions and subtitles" and try enabling them that way :) (Thats how it is in wmp9)

Good luck :)
