Ok here it goes again. For all my system info and I mean everything go here. Its not pretty but the info is all there.

System specs. (http://home.epix.net/~n3whs/home.html)

I have posted before but I cant get the dvd player to work. It locks up most of the times. Any where from 15 secs to 10 min. Most times in the first 1 min. This is useing ati latest dvd player 7.1

the orginal post (http://rilanparty.com/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=8335)

I have ran the latest drivers for the via chipset. The ati allinwonder. dirx 8 and dirx a. For the ati.
Done 4 or 5 full clean installs still dosnt work.

I tried to do a video capture with the ati. It capture 15 min of video. Which was the amount on the tape. It encoded as a .mp2 . Saved it. file size is like 820 megs.
Now when I go to play it it plays for about 10 secs and locks the damn thing up.

Maybe this is tied into what I thought was a dvd problem.
For this clip It was playing in windows media player.
So please anyhelp would be most welcomed.

Also I can be reached most nights 6.00 pm to 9.00 pm est. (east coast usa.) On msim. op4_camper

Never mind. I hated to do this but the mobo was useless if I couldnt vid. capture and playback dvds with reliablty.

So I flashed the bios with the newest one.
and
it
WORKED

So if anyone else it haveing this problem with dvd and dvd files. Take your time read and flash. Cause if you dont do it right it could fail. Even if you do it right it can still fail. I only flash when I have to.
I have done quite a few flashes over the years and had only one go bad. That was on a vidio card.

I Ill tell you what the dvd playback it very nice. The captured video is also the same....
