well ive done svcd befor but not happy with the audio
i want to do a svcd with 5.1 dolby digital
and i get verry confused,, there is so manny guides out there
and when i convert audio (ac3) to wave i lose 5.1,, i think its because wav's dont suport multichannel
i think thats where i go wrong how do i keep the ac3 and sync it to
the movie mpg4 ? well as you can tell im a newby but have done svcd befor and i can follow the guides really well
but i get confused with all the ebreaviations for all the different types of methords mainley because my player suports mpg4 and pcm
so im so confused im having an other go at it because if i can get 5.1 ill keep doing it but if i cant then ill wate a while longer till it is posibale dont for get i need it to playthese disks in a dvd player and not on the computer where there is spdif enabled soundcard
all you have to do is say use this guide and i wreckon ill bee ok from there

If you want to play your movies in your standalone dvd player I have to disappoint you ac3 in svcds is not possible! . For surround sound in svcds you would need a multichannel mpeg audio file. But this is only supported by very few standalone players, I believe. Look in the audio forum for more info, this topic is vitally discussed there.

Ac3 sound in divx movies is very easy. Just rip the original ac3 track and mux to your movie with nandub. Then install the ac3 filters (-> doom9's download page) and go!

Btw., I highly doubt that your standalone can play mpeg4 as that would be divx. The only standalone players that can do this are the ones who are basically a pc in the 'disguise' of a HiFi player case. 'Normal' standalone dvd players support mpeg1 (vcd) and mpeg2 (dvd+svcd).
