playing streming .mov files in MPC - possible?

I was wondering if it is possible to play streaming .mov files with MPC (like Apple trailers, assuming I can find out and provide to the player the proper link to a file) without having to install QuickTime (or QuickTIme alternative). I mean MPC plays local .mov file just fine (with Haali splitter and proper codecs) but I cannot get it to play streaming files. They do play fine in VLC.
Any ideas?

by installing the right decoders included in ffdshow, you should be able to play those files in mpc...

Yah, I thought so - but I've tried various settings and it did not work. It works if I have .mov file on my hard drive - but not if I want to stream it. It seems to me more of a file reader/splitter issue rather than a codec.
Any other ideas?
