Can't recode or burn a divx file

I have a divx file I want to recode to mp4 or burn to dvd. I have Nero 7 and Divx 6.4.1. I can play the movie in the Divx player, but not in WMP and can't recode or burn it in Nero recode or Nerovision (internal error building graph).

I'd ultimately like for all these programs to work properly with the divx codec, but would be satisfied with a freeware utility than can just burn the divx file to a DVD. TIA
