hello there,
i have searched the forum, but i couldn't find the exact problem as what i am experiencing.

i'm trying to convert dvd episode to xvid using a typical dvd-to-xvid guide. in particular, i'm using this guide (http://forum.videohelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=221896).

my problem: video lags behind audio. the video and audio output play just fine, independently. but when i mux them together i get the unsynced problem.

so, because i failed to produce a synced xvid at the end, i turned to AutoGK. and it seems to work fine (that is, the video and audio synced). but it frusterated me to see i can't do the same with the manual multi-steps procedures (i like having more options).

i took a look at AutoGK's log file and it seems to read the file as 29.970 fps with interlaced. but dgmpgdec is telling me something different:

the thing is when i preview the video, it's telling me that the video is "interlaced" instead of "progressive" like the saved project status.

also, the label for the dvd said the the aspect ratio is 1.85:1 (widescreen), but the picture is saying 4:3.

could it be that I set something wrong in dgmpgdec (in the video section) - i'm using version 1.4.8? because this is what i set before i save the project. I tried all three types of "Field Operation" but still i had no luck.

or could it the settings in virtualdub?

also, i have another problem: can't seem to get avisynth to work. when i make a .AVS file with "MPEG2Source("dvd2avi.d2v")" in the first line (yes my saved d2v file is named as "dvd2avi.d2v").
so, i have used VFAPI Reader Codec 1.05 as a frameserver instead.

thanks in advance for your input!! it means alot! have a nice day. :D
