only 94 minutes, yet over 5 gigs

I'm trying to back-up my copy of Road Trip. The movie is only 94 minutes long, yet it rips to over 5 gigs. I only ripped the main movie and 2 audio tracks. Why does this extract to be so big. I thought you could, in general, fit up to a 120 minute DVD on a 4.7 gig dvd-r. Am I doing something wrong? Please help.

Posible the movie is encoded in high biterate. DVD allows using 9.4 MB/s. So you must recompress the main movie to get smaller size.
